Sounds of the Big Bands
Free to the Public
The Dearborn Big Band plays swing music in the style of the big bands directed by Glenn Miller, Bennie Goodman and Duke Ellington. We are currently directed by Stephen Randall. The band is a perennial favorite.
Diane Taglioli Hura is featured on vocals and is always a crowd pleaser with her renditions of Ella Fitzgerald songs. Matt (The Knife) Muzzin also lends his vocal ability to songs in the style of Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra. The band has played at city festivals, including River Rouge and Dearborn, The Michael Guido Theater, Music Under the Stars, Music in the Park, weddings and dances at Historic Ft. Wayne.
The Dearborn Big Band was formed in 1993 and featured such luminaries as Mayor Michael Guido on trombone and vocals. The band has been a popular act for young and old audiences ever since.
